UAE, Syria sign air transport agreement Posted on 20/06/2008
Damascus - The United Arab Emirates and Syria yesterday initialled Air Services Agreement (ASA) in Damascus.
The agreement was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Major General Hazem Al Khadraa, Director General of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority.
Both parties agreed to designate all UAE national airlines for unrestricted passenger flights to Syrian cities, with the exception of Damascus.

The UAE represented by General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) updated the Air Services Agreement and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hellenic Republic on 19th March 2008 in Dubai to increase air flights between the two countries. The United Arab Emirates represented by General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has signed an Air Services Heads of Agreement (HoA) with Lithuania. The HoA was signed in Vilnius by Captain Aisha Al Hameli, Head of Air Transport Department at the GCAA and by Vidmantas Kairys, Director of Civil Aviation Department at the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport & Communications.
