Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, opened yesterday the third ordinary session of the 14th legislative chapter of the Federal National Council (FNC) in presence of Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers of various emirates.
Sheikh Mohammed met the Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, other Sheikhs and Ministers, all of whom exchanged greetings with him at the Main reception hall of the FNC House in Abu Dhabi.

Italian Parliament official to visit UAE Posted on 02/11/2008
Prominent Italian politician and Chairman of the Italian parliament Gianfranco Fini will visit UAE early next year to hold talks with Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair.
FNC Secretary General Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazroui said that during the recent tour of the FNC delegation to Italy, the arrangements for Fini's visit were discussed. Formation of an Italian-UAE parliamentary friendship committee is on the cards, Al Mazroui added.

FNC Speaker meets Polish Parliament Speaker Posted on 30/10/2008
Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council HE Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair arrived in Warsaw yesterday on a three-day visit to Poland.
While in Warsaw, Al Ghurair met with Speaker of the Polish Parliament Bronisaw Komorowski in the attendance of members of UAE delegation and Polish MPs. In the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.

The Federal National Council's (FNC) participation at International Parliamentary Union (IPU) meetings held recently in Geneva was positive.
The participation of the UAE's FNC delegation at the IPU meeting was feted by the Swiss and international media. They highlighted unanimous approval of the proposal on the role of parliaments on dealing with the global financial crisis presented by the UAE.

UAE's FNC: State of affairs in Abu Musa Island is ruled by 1971 MoU Posted on 16/08/2008
The UAE's Federal National Council (FNC) yesterday urged Iran to comply with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1971 by the two countries on the Abu Musa Island.
FNC also urged Iran to promptly dismantle its two offices which it said were illegally set up on the Island.
