 Mohammed bin Rashid opens FNC session

Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, opened yesterday the third ordinary session of the 14th legislative chapter of the Federal National Council (FNC) in presence of Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers of various emirates.
Sheikh Mohammed met the Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, other Sheikhs and Ministers, all of whom exchanged greetings with him at the Main reception hall of the FNC House in Abu Dhabi.

 Mohammed bin Rashid to open the third ordinary session of FNC Monday

Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will open Monday the third ordinary session of the 14th legislative chapter of the Federal National Council (FNC) in presence Their Highnesses Crown Princes of different emirates, Deputy Rulers, Ministers and members of the diplomatic corps.

Prominent Italian politician and Chairman of the Italian parliament Gianfranco Fini will visit UAE early next year to hold talks with Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair.
FNC Secretary General Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazroui said that during the recent tour of the FNC delegation to Italy, the arrangements for Fini's visit were discussed. Formation of an Italian-UAE parliamentary friendship committee is on the cards, Al Mazroui added.

 FNC Speaker meets Polish Parliament Speaker

Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council HE Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair arrived in Warsaw yesterday on a three-day visit to Poland.
While in Warsaw, Al Ghurair met with Speaker of the Polish Parliament Bronisaw Komorowski in the attendance of members of UAE delegation and Polish MPs. In the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
Komorowski expressed his admiration at the rapid democratic development taking place in the UAE to realize the ambitions of its citizens.

The Federal National Council's (FNC) participation at International Parliamentary Union (IPU) meetings held recently in Geneva was positive.
The participation of the UAE's FNC delegation at the IPU meeting was feted by the Swiss and international media. They highlighted unanimous approval of the proposal on the role of parliaments on dealing with the global financial crisis presented by the UAE.

A delegation from the Federal National Council, headed by its Speaker Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, arrived in Madrid yesterday on a three-day visit to Spain.

 FNC delegation to visit Italy, Spain and Poland

A delegation from the Federal National Council, headed by Speaker Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair will visit Italy, Spain and Poland this month.
The nine-day tour to begin on 22nd October comes in response to invitations extended to FNC by those countries.

 UAE requests IPU to debate global financial crisis

The UAE request for inclusion of an emergency item in the agenda of the 119th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union about the global financial crisis has won unanimous support of Arab delegates, a senior UAE MP said yesterday.

Member of the UAE's Federal National Council (FNC) Khalid Hamad Bushihab has stressed the importance of reforming international institutions to achieve justice and eradicate double standards.

The UAE's Federal National Council (FNC) yesterday urged Iran to comply with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1971 by the two countries on the Abu Musa Island.
FNC also urged Iran to promptly dismantle its two offices which it said were illegally set up on the Island.

The International Parliamentary Union (IPU) has endorsed nomination of Rashid Mohammed Khalfan Al Shareqi, a UAE member of parliament, to the executive committee of the IPU, which will commence its session on October.
